After suffering episodic amnesia due to a Cerebral Event, I tried to trigger my memories with gaming.
What's it Like originally started as a Blogger project to help me recover some motor neuron skills and keep my brain busy. I fell in love with writing and gaming and despite not being very good at either, people seemed to enjoy my take on the world of gaming. After making a full recovery, What's it Like fell by the wayside and life took over.
Now that I'm traveling Australia and gaming on the go, I decided to restart What's it Like, mainly with a focus on Nintendo Switch content. I hope you enjoy my ramblings and the content I put out. I invite constructive criticism and collaboration so if you want to share your point of view, by all means, let me know!

Ylands Switch Review
Survival and crafting games have been all the rage since Minecraft first graced our screens in 2011, and there’s something so fun about building and crafting away to create the stronghold of your dreams. Many games have followed a similar premise only to be often unfairly labeled as Minecraft clones. YLands aims to buck this trend by offering an adventure narrative with a complex crafting system. My kid loves luigi's mansion but he wasn't alive when it first came out and I never played it so for us it's awesome!
Thats so cool he will get to experience it! My kids both love Luigis mansion 3, so they were very excited to try this one.
I 100% dark moon on the 3ds so personally i don't think this is worth it but for people that are just now trying it out i hope they enjoy it as much as i did

For that price point no way. Oh it's from the DayZ developers, that explains the performance issues etc. Since yesterday deleted from any Eshop stores.

Can I use my own ship and multitool?
I didn't try in either of my playthroughs, but in theory you can. You need to carry them across at the terminal and use nanites to duplicate them
Thanks for this im 49 and just got it ive been playing nintendo on and off since i was 7 years i got my first snes which i still have then I grew up and passed the love of gaming onto my daughter so shes had every console that came out i will watch upon watch this she has done the spider and said il help you ive died a few times lol but i will do it myself and won't give in much appreciated
And I just did it by myself with your help thank you even my daughter is proud of me lol I'm proud of me

@whatsitlikeau It's just losing yourself in another world, escaping your reality. Immersing yourself in your players world. Like Henry, I can't have issues when I use him because that dude has been through it 😂
Difficult guide
More frustrating for the players.
Nice review. I've been slowly working my way through the game and enjoying it for the most part. My biggest issue is the controls. They just feel... awkward. It seems like no matter how I change the settings, I'm constantly swinging the flashlight/vacuum the wrong way. There's also something else about the movement that just feels off to me, although I can't quite put my finger on the reason. Regardless, I'm having fun, and feel the price is mostly fair for what we get. A tad cheaper might have been better since this is a remaster of an older game with no new content, but it's a good game, so I won't complain. Keep the content coming!
I think for me, the only time if felt weird was turning while moving? Aside from that compared to 3DS it was a huge improvement. Price point has seemed to cause a lot of pain on this one. I'm glad you're enjoying it still! This is probably my favorite remaster so far, and I know it's not quite as nice as Paper Mario, but I got a soft spot for Luigi!
Here's the real question do you have to complete the play thru before you can access the transfer menu?
Yes. Once you complete the game it will give you the option to save "clear data" If you don't do this, you won't be able to access the transfer menu.
This game is catered likely to old players of Metal Slug Attack and Defense. I am an old player who played the game for a few years and this game was once a gacha game that ultimately hit an EoS. Naturally, it had microtransactions, stamina, etc. Of course, events too and medals were the currency made to pull in various gacha banners. They had a lot of unit sprite arts so I believe they likely decided to put all those assets and art to good use by repackaging the MSA gacha game into a single player with online gameplay. Also, there is an actual Metal Slug Defense Game still there in steam out for free. It has some different units but its a lot inferior to MSA. So, any expectations is really silly overall. There are other gacha games out there that have hit an EoS but became stand alone games later on. MSA is just the latest on that list though I am very grateful as an old MSA player. I am willing to buy the game just to play it once more.
I really love the art style of the Metal Slug series which made the first few hours of this game a delight to play, but the constant walls killed it for me. It seems a lot of Mobile gamers are really glad its back, but I think the difficulty curve isn't very welcoming for new players.
@@whatsitlikeau Sadly true lol. Which is why I say it is catered towards the old msa players and not towards new players. To be fair, msa when it was running had its fair share of problems. We didnt really have such things as stamina potions though we did have means to gather stamina. To go through events, you needed to skip some to gather thousands of stamina. Then old units were easily powercreep by new ones making all the effort to get them kinda vain. Also, the gacha animations were quite different. I kinda preferred that type of gacha animation...
Sick tutorial but how do you randomly craft a nautilus sub, like please ellaborate.
sorry about that! Next time i'll go into more detail. When harvesting the materials underwater, grab 100 salt, then press up on the D-pad to build the Nautilon chamber. If you've been following the guide, you would have unlocked the plans a couple of objectives ago! If you get stuck, I'm very active on this channel so reply to this with any questions and I'm happy to help out!

When you find infested outposts there are egg sacks. Destroy them and pick up the larval cores

The games decent but if you crash it makes u go back to main menu
A few bugs stop it from being great, but it's still pretty good for handheld!

Cant find copper on the starting planet its crazy can only find cursed dust
Should be copper everywhere! I would recommend restarting the expedition if thats the case. It might be a bug!
@@whatsitlikeau finished the expedition using the guide. Took me 30 mins (thanks). Took me 30 mins to find the copper and get back to the ship.
